TZ commemorates International Youth Day in Dar

Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA joins other nations to mark the International Youth Day today, with the government reiterating its commitment to continue empowering the group economically.

This year’s commemoration goes with a Tanzanian theme which is Everyone is Involved in Building a Strong Economy, Prosperity and Sustainable Development: Prepare to be Counted.”

Speaking to journalists during a workshop in Dar es Salaam, on Thursday, youth department director in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labor, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities), Mr Julius Tweneshe, expressed government’s commitment to empower the youth by continueing boosting capacity of the Youth Development Fund.

On Wednesday, this week, Deputy Minister for the docket, Mr Patrobas Katambi, assured that sustainable strategies are in place to enable the youth to engage in economic activities in efforts to boost national economy.

He made the assurance when speaking to media practitioners in Dar es Salaam, ahead of the today’s commemoration.
