VARIOUS groups, including the Women and Samia group have come forward to participate and receive financial education provided by various stakeholders in the financial sector being among the events that brighten ongoing Financial Services Week celebrations at Usagara grounds in Tanga.
These celebrations are aimed to provide a broad understanding to the Tanzanian citizens about the proper use of financial services, including saving, borrowing carefully and planning the use of money for the development of the individual and the community as a whole.
Speaking at the celebrations, the Chief financial development officer, Financial Sector Development Department, Fred Ilomo, urged Tanzanian women to use the opportunity to learn and strengthen themselves economically through the knowledge they gain, emphasizing that financial education is an important pillar in achieving sustainable family and national development.
The women were trained on how to run small and medium-sized businesses, the use of banking and financial institutions, and the importance of having sound financial planning.
Speaking on behalf of the Women and Samia group, Stella Luther Malingwu said they were pleased with the training they received, saying it had helped them understand in practice how to manage their income, avoid unproductive loans and use available financial opportunities for their development.
The Financial Services Week celebrations are expected to continue at the same venue until January 26, 2026, involving various social groups with the aim of building a society with a broad understanding of financial issues
