Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA’S football giants, Young Africans and Singida Black Stars, are gearing up for pivotal fixtures as they enter the group stages of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup respectively.

Both clubs are determined to leave a lasting impression on the continental stage.

Yanga, the Jangwani-based powerhouse, are preparing for a blockbuster showdown against Morocco’s FAR Rabat in their opening CAF Champions League group match.

The clash is scheduled for November 22 at the state-of-the-art New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.

Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, underscored the magnitude of the encounter, describing it as one of the most significant matches ever hosted at the venue.

“This is the most anticipated match in Africa right now,” Kamwe said.

“Yanga vs FAR Rabat will be the biggest game at the New Amaan Complex. The eyes of Africa will be on us as two of the continent’s best teams go head-to-head.”

Yanga’s preparations have been boosted by the return of key players from international duty with the Tanzania national team.

Among those rejoining the squad in Zanzibar are Prince Dube, Celestine Ecua and Lassine Kouma, ensuring coach Pedro Gonçalves has a full-strength team at his disposal.

Yanga sit in Group B alongside JS Kabylie, ASFAR and Egyptian giants Al Ahly, who will also kick off their group campaign on November 22 against JS Kabylie.

Meanwhile, Singida Black Stars are exuding confidence ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage opener against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad this Saturday.

Led by seasoned tactician Miguel Gamondi, the team departed for Algeria on Monday night ahead of the clash with a focused 26-man squad.

Speaking at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) before jetting off, team spokesperson Hussein Masanza said the squad remains calm and motivated despite facing formidable opponents.

“We are going to Algeria with no pressure,” Masanza affirmed.

“Coach Gamondi has experience working in Algeria, and we have several seasoned players like Clatous Chama, Khalid Aucho and Nickson Kibabage who will help keep the team composed and competitive,” he added.

Singida BS aim to secure at least a point in what is expected to be a demanding fixture.

Masanza added that reaching the group stage itself is proof of the team’s growing strength and ambition. Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup features CR Belouizdad, Stellenbosch FC (South Africa) and Otoho d’Oyo (DRC), setting the stage for a challenging but exciting campaign.
