Z’Bar 2VP Urges Ministry to Uphold Security

Africa-Press – Tanzania. ZANZIBAR’S Second Vice President, Mr Hemed Suleiman Abdulla has underscored the core mandate of the Ministry of Home Affairs to safeguard citizens and their property while ensuring justice for all Tanzanians.

He made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the ministry’s top officials at his office at the House of Representatives in Chukwani, Zanzibar.

Mr Abdulla stressed that public safety is fundamental to strengthening political, economic and social activities, noting that the Police Force and other security agencies bear the responsibility of maintaining peace and stability at all times.

He urged security organs to discharge their duties in strict adherence to the Constitution, laws, regulations and established procedures in order to promote good governance and effective service delivery.

“Security is the foundation of development. Without peace and stability, it is impossible for citizens to participate fully in economic and social activities,” he said.

The Second Vice-President also highlighted the importance of integrating technology into daily security operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in crime prevention and response.

He assured the ministry of continued cooperation and guidance in implementing directives issued by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan.

For his part, Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Patrobas Katambi acknowledged the weight of the ministry’s responsibility to protect citizens and their property, pledging to carry out the mandate with professionalism, integrity and full compliance with constitutional and legal frameworks.

Mr Katambi said ministry staff would work diligently and with discipline to safeguard and protect the Union and uphold national values to preserve the country’s dignity both locally and internationally.

He also commended the country’s top leadership for steering the nation in line with good governance, the rule of law, respect for human rights and the promotion of socioeconomic development.

The minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Mr Ayoub Mohammed Mahmoud, Permanent Secretary Mr Ally Senga Gugu and the ministry’s Director of Administration and Human Resource Management, Ms Miriyam Pereele Mmbanga.
