AfricaPress-Tanzania: MINISTER for Communications and Information Technology, Dr Faustine Ndugulile, has called upon the ministry management to be committed and make timely and constructive decisions.

Dr Ndugulile gave the call on Thursday at a management meeting, which among other things, intended to remind participants on the need to observe the code of conduct in public service.

“At the end of training we want to have a common understanding and speak the same language when we serve members of the public, taking into consideration that our ministry is new with cross-cutting issues which need timely solutions,” said Dr Ndugulile.

He dreamt of the management that would be making constructive decisions and proper advice while safeguarding public interests.

The minister expressed dissatisfaction with a current trend as authorities and executives left the burden of decision-making to the minister without outlining their proposals and a way forward.

Lack of decision-making, the minister said, was one of the key factors that delayed most projects.

He said training should cover all cadres in the ministry, saying at times subordinates were being punished in areas they were not informed, thus there was a need to orient them before enforcing disciplinary measures.
