AfricaPress-Tanzania: FORMER Arumeru East MP Joshua Nassari emerged from the ‘wilderness’ Wednesday as he announced his decision to ditch opposition party Chadema for the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi.

Mr Nassari whose parliamentary seat on Chadema ticket was stripped off by Speaker Job Ndugai last year, maintained that his crossing over had nothing to do with the upcoming General Election, and that he wasn’t eyeing for any parliamentary seat.

“My decision is out of free will, without being coerced by anyone, I’ve today decided to join the ruling party with a view of supporting and complementing the good leadership exhibited by President John Magufuli,” clarified the youthful politician amidst a thunderous applause from CCM cadres, who filled up the party’s regional headquarters to the brim.

Mr Nassari, who was ushered into the hall by the party’s youth wing (UVCCM), Chairman Mr Kheri James, said he would not continue being in the main opposition party, when President Magufuli’s leadership style had proven to be non-discriminatory.

“This is a nice gesture of saying thank you to our President, who continues to earn global accolades for his leadership,” he explained.
