MANAGEMENT MINISTRY OF CONSTRUCTION AND TRANSPORT REQUIRED TO PROVIDE COOPERATION

AfricaPress-Tanzania: The Minister of Works and Transport, Dr. Leonard Chamuriho has called on the Ministry of Management to co-operate with the Deputy Ministers to fulfill the government’s commitment to complete projects on time and with quality.

Speaking during the welcoming session of the Deputy Minister, Mwita Waitara, Minister Chamuriho emphasized the importance of timely reporting and stressed good coordination of reporting to avoid conflict.

“The success of the Ministry is largely dependent on the cooperation that will be shown from the management of major strategic projects and the coordination of information provided from management and institutions,” he said.

Minister Chamuriho said the ministry was carrying out major projects of the country, including railways, planes, ships, ferries, bridges and roads so it was important for the deputies to plan to review development projects together to identify challenges and seek immediate solutions.

For his part, Deputy Minister, Godfrey Kasekenya said the partnership between him and Management has made him work professionally and get to know the industry quickly.

“Since I have been appointed Deputy Minister to be honest I have received a lot of cooperation from the management whenever I needed any information I received on time and given detailed information,” said Kasekenya.

For his part Waitara asked for co-operation by being given timely information on the progress of development projects in order to work with positive results in the newly appointed sector.

In addition, the Secretary General, Construction, Elius Mwakalinga, said the addition of a leader would increase the impetus for accountability and promised to provide co-operation to all leaders in a timely manner.

The minor Cabinet reshuffle by President Samia Suluhu Hassan has increased the number of deputy ministers from one to two to closely monitor the implementation of projects.
