AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) is set to improve this year’s transfer window with expectations to set procedures that will avoid shortcomings in the 2021 season.
According to TCA Communication Officer, Atif Salim the transfer window is only open for Dar es Salaam cricket clubs; and shall include seniors and junior Under-19.
“The transfer window is only opened for the Dar es Salaam Cricket (DC) which is the hub of the major clubs in the country.”
“This year’s transfer window is an improved version from the last year as we want a better system to be in place with the challenges we had from last year’s window. That’s the reason we have opened it 15 days earlier so that every transfer can take place well in accordance with the rules set.”
“Since the transfer window is open, clubs will look to strengthen and we may see movement. We are waiting to see the applications.”
The transfer window will be open for 45 days from November 15th to December 31st this year.
The transfer and registration procedures for 2021 season states that whoever will be involved in the transfer window will be required to obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) from existing club.
“The player must obtain NOC (No Objection Certificate) from his existing club on or prior to December 31st, 2020 for any transfer to take place. No transfers will be accepted for any players for NOC issued on January 1st, 2021 onwards.”
“The player can then submit the NOC to DC by email at [email protected] directly or through his new club at any time.”
The procedure had also noted that any player becomes tied with a club after playing at least one official game in case any player has not played a single game in the year 2020 is automatic given a free agent status.
“Any player having not played a single game for his club in the year 2020 is given a “Free agent status. Hence, under this rule the player can register himself to any club in the DC leagues at any point without regarding the NOC.”
The procedure further noted that the new player can be registered at any time during the year provided a notice is sent to DC by email 48 hours before any league game.
The player registration list will indicate status of each player and playing commitment at least one year should be submitted to DC for approval by January 10th, 2021.
