MWANZA READIES FOR FDL, SDL SHOWDOWN

AfricaPress-Tanzania: MWANZA Regional Football Association (MZFA), is finalizing the preparations to stage the First Division and Second division leagues at its CCM Kirumba and Nyamagana venues.

Speaking to the ‘africa-press’, MZFA secretary general, Leonard Malongo said they are very ready to host the two leagues and as well as accommodating all the teams to be engaged in the duels.

He said both arenas; Nyamagana stadium in Nyamagana District and CCM Kirumba stadium in Ilemela are well- shaped to host the leagues’ matches.

The official added they are now waiting for the league fixtures from Tanzania premier League Board (TPLB) and fur- ther instructions from Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).

He called upon all teams and players to observe disci- pline throughout all matches of the tournaments.

Malongo also commended the efforts shown by the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports for choosing Mwanza Region as the centre of the leagues.

In the FDL group A stand- ings, Dodoma Jiji are leading the group with 39 points after playing 18 matches.

They have won twelve, drawn three and lost three matches. They have netted 28 and conceded 10 goals.

Ihefu FC are placed second with 39 points but differs in goal difference against Dodoma Jiji FC.

Maji Maji FC are placed third on the log after gathering 34 points from 18 outings. They have won ten, drawn four and lost four matches.

The former Union champions have netted 20 and conceded 14 goals.

Mbeya Kwanza are placed fourth with 31 points, while African Lyon are on the fifth place with 27 points while in group B, Gwambina FC are leading the group with 40 points.

Geita Gold are placed second with 30 points and Mashujaa FC are on the third place after gathering 26 points. Gipco are glued fourth with 25 points.
