AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE splint for the championship in the Serengeti Lite Women’s Premier League (SLWPL) is getting hot game after game making it hard to predict which side has the better chance to clinch it.

It is simply a neck to neck marathon especially for the top three teams on the ladder which are Yanga Princes, Simba Queens and JKT Queens with each looking sharp to clinch the title at the end of the campaign.

Like their brothers, Yanga Princes continue to remain firm at the top of the pile with 35 points from 13 games and are yet to taste the bitter part of the league.

They have won eleven games and stamped two draws thereby scoring 45 goals in the process while aiming to lift high the trophy after the season.

However, when they look at side mirrors, their closest chasers are Simba Queens who are leaving no stone unturned as far as fighting for the season’s SLWPL is known.

They have garnered 33 points after 13 outings to cement their second place on the log and have since registered 10 wins plus three draws while also still enjoying unbeaten run.

Just like their senior brothers, Simba Queens have netted more goals (58) than any other team on the ladder with their latest 1-1 draw against Ruvuma Queens while their recent hefty victory of 6-0 goals was against Mapinduzi Queens.

On third place are JKT Queens who have pocketed 33 points from 13 outings with their recent 3-1 win against Tanzanite SC which has seen them triumphing in 11 matches and losing two encounters respectively.

They are still key title contenders. JKT Queens are tied on 33 points with Simba Queens who are also the defending champions, but Simba are placed second due to goal difference advantage.

Alliance Girls are fourth on the table with 25 points while Mlandizi Queens are fifth with 23 points in their bag. On fifth slot are Baobab Queens with 20 points whereas Ruvuma Queens are seventh with 19points.

Tanzanite SC are eighth with 15 points while TSC Queens occupy ninth place after collecting 11 points from their 13 clashes.

The going is tough for Kigoma Sisters, Mapinduzi Queens and ES Unyanyembe which sit on tenth, eleventh and twelfth places with 8, 3 and 0 points in that order.
