AfricaPress-Tanzania: SIMBA Sports Club has announced Tanzania’s prominent actress, Yvonne Cherrie ‘Monalisa’, as a spokeswoman for the club’s women side, Simba Queens.
The outfit’s social media forums had, on Wednesday, posted a picture of Monalisa being introduced by Simba Queens’ matron, Fatema Dewji, with the latter handing over the club’s jersey to the former.
Simba SC disclosed in a statement: “Our matron, Fatema Dewji, has officially welcomed Monalisa as the spokesperson for Simba Queens.”
”We are confident that Monalisa will do her best to disseminate all the information related to Simba Queens to our community,” the statement pointed out.
“From Monalisa’s experience, we believe she will be the best spokesperson for our team and will fully exploit the experience she grew up with in the community.”
The statement said: ”Welcome to Simba Queens our spokesperson, Monalisa.”
Monalisa comented on the new position through her social media accounts saying: ”I am a Simba Queens’ fanatic.”
”I want to praise my country and I also want you to know my happiness.”
”Thank God, thank you all at Simba and lastly thanks to Simba Queens’ matron, Fatema Dewji, for giving me an opportunity to speak for my beloved Simba Queens,” she disclosed.
She stated: “Now is the time for me to work, the time to show the world Simba Queens’ greatness, where you are really happy.”
”Finally, I would like to make an official announcement that every girl/woman in this country is a Simba Queens’ fan.”
