AfricaPress-Tanzania: Athletics coach Suleiman Nyambui has said that the late President Joseph Magufuli will face all sports associations and federations in the country after his government allocated a budget for national teams in the country.
Speaking to this newspapers Nyambui said the fifth phase government in the 2020/2021 budget of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports has increased and the increased amount of Shs 332,250,000.00 will be used to fund national teams that will participate in various international competitions.
“President Magufuli will be remembered for his contribution to national teams after allocating a budget that will support national teams,” said Nyambui.
He said in the past national teams had failed to travel but because there is a starting point from the government it helps and increases morale for athletes to commit more.
He said he knows there are many national teams because there are many games but he believes they will share well is another amount stakeholders will be contributing to the success of the trip or competition.
Nyambui also said President Magufuli made it clear that he loved the development of his country, including sports and helping the weak.
In the Budget of the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, for a period of five years, in 2020/2021 it is Shs 1,327,047,000 from Shs 802,964,000.00 for 2019/2020 which is equivalent to 60.5%.
An increase of Shs 332,250,000.00 will be used to fund national teams that will participate in various international competitions.
