AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE Next Door Arena in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam on Friday will again be the epicentre of the high profile International boxing event where renowned pugilists from within and outside Tanzania will showcase what they are capable to do in the ring.
Dubbed ‘Rumble in Dar’, a total of 18 boxers have confirmed to take part in the big competition which to a large extent will help to put the country on the global face as far as boxing is concerned.
Speaking on Monday with the ‘africa-press’, Founding Partner and Head Strategist at Jackson Group Sports Kelvin Twissa explained they aim to upscale boxing environment in the country to reach similar status like that of Las Vegas and New York.
“We want to make Tanzania a boxing hub in Africa bearing in mind that we have potential boxers who really would like to reach big levels and that can only be achieved if they get fighting platforms like these. “Here at Jackson Group Sports, we have always spoken and re-affirmed our commitment to ensure that boxing in the country for both male and female pugilists is developed at a sustainable rate and to entice many people to love the sport,” Twissa said.
According to him, the World Boxing Federation (WBF) have sanctioned two title fights for their belts on the night.
