AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE UEFA Assist Project in conjunction with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) will run a video conference with all teams trading in the Premier League today.
According to a press briefing released by TFF yesterday, the seminar whose topic of discussion will be the roles and responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), General Manager and General Secretary of the football clubs, will be tutored by Joost de Wit.
In another development, TPLB has urged some of the Premier League clubs which were using the suspended league hosting venues for training purposes to stop at once saying it is against the Club Licensing Regulations.
“Every club is supposed to have two venues one for hosting competitive games while the other for training sessions as recommended by the Club Licensing Regulations.
“This is the directive from the board and any club which will not adhere to this will face strict punishment including total ban of the concerned arena from hosting games throughout this season,” reads part of the statement from TPLB.
One of the venues which was stopped from hosting league matches was Gwambina Complex used by the newly promoted side Gwambina FC for home games.
However, a statement from the club released on Tuesday indicated that the ban has been lifted upon full inspection by TFF Technical Director Oscar Milambo.
“After being satisfied with the facelift of the pitch, Milambo on behalf of the TPLB has lifted the imposed suspension such that all our home league matches this season will be played at Gwambina Complex including our next match against Mtibwa Sugar on Thursday (today),” the statement from the club disclosed.
Another venue which has been given a green light by TPLB to continue hosting league matches after lifting the suspension is Karume Stadium in Mara used by Biashara United.
TPLB has since vowed to continue suspending league staging stadiums whose pitches will be of substandard to entertain epic games.
The development has been wholeheartedly welcomed by various sport stakeholders in the country who see it as the first step towards reaching the promised land of having quality playing venues.
