Africa-Press – Uganda. Capt. Mike Mukula has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the race for the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) Vice Chairmanship for Eastern Uganda, according to fresh nationwide opinion polls.
The survey, conducted across Western, Buganda, Kampala City, Northern, Karamoja, and Eastern Uganda, shows Mukula enjoying broad cross-regional support — a rare achievement in the party’s internal politics.
Delegates and mobilisers point to his political experience, proven track record, and unmatched mobilization skills as key reasons for his lead.
“He bridges regions and speaks for both rural and urban communities,” said Sarah Nanyanzi, an NRM delegate from Masaka. “He listens, he mobilizes, and he delivers.”
In Gulu, veteran cadre Bosco Okello echoed the sentiment: “Mukula has stood with the party in good times and bad. He is a unifier.”
Political analysts say the numbers put Mukula in pole position ahead of the vote.
“With this kind of cross-regional momentum, he’s heading for a decisive win,” noted Dr. Samuel Owor. “If the polls hold, expect a landslide.”
With elections fast approaching, Mukula looks set not only to cement his place in the CEC but also to consolidate his influence on the national political stage.
