SFC Flags off Teams for 17Th Edition of CDF Cup Tournament

Africa-Press – Uganda. The Special Forces Command (SFC) has officially flagged off its Rangers and football team to participate in the 17th edition of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Cup Tournament, scheduled to run between August 26 to September, 5 in Masaka.

The tournament, to be hosted at Masaka Secondary School playgrounds and other nearby venues, will attract more than 20 teams drawn from various Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) services.

Teams will compete in football, netball, range shooting, tree planting, and other activities.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony at VVIPTS-Sera, Kasenyi, SFC Commander Maj. Gen. David Mugisha urged the athletes to uphold discipline both on and off the field.

He reminded them of SFC’s strong track record in past tournaments and encouraged them to work hard to meet expectations.

Brig. Gen. J.B. Asinguza, Commander 1 Special Forces Group, echoed the call for commitment, urging the teams to compete with professionalism, unity, and courage.

He emphasized that SFC is expected to set an example for the rest of the UPDF.
