Africa-Press – Uganda. The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Bashir Mutyaba as the new Football Development Director, with his tenure officially starting on August 1, 2025.
In a statement released by FUFA, the federation expressed confidence in Mutyaba’s ability to steer football development initiatives in Uganda.
“We are pleased to announce that Mr. Bashir Mutyaba has been appointed as the new FUFA Football Development Director, effective August 1, 2025.”
Mutyaba takes over from Ali Mwebe, who has been recruited by the world football governing body, FIFA, to serve as a Regional Technical Consultant.
An experienced football administrator and coach, Bashir Mutyaba has held various key roles within Uganda’s football circles.
He previously served as FUFA’s Youth Football Development Manager and played a vital role in shaping youth and grassroots football structures across the country.
Mutyaba is also a CAF-certified instructor and has been involved in coaching education programs, talent identification, and technical development strategies.
His appointment is seen as a continuity move aimed at building on the foundations laid by Mwebe, particularly in aligning FUFA’s development programs with continental and global standards.
