Africa-Press – Uganda. The Retired Bishop of Central Buganda Diocese, Rt Rev Jackson Matovu, has called on Ugandans to embrace unity and reconciliation, stressing that healing divisions from elections is essential for national progress.

Bishop Matovu was representing the Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo, at St Andrew’s Church of Uganda, Ndese in Kaini Parish, Kasawo Archdeaconry, during the commissioning of a new church project and the confirmation of over 70 Christians.

“Let us move forward together, remain united in our faith, and commit ourselves to the development of our communities, thereby ensuring a better life for all,” he said.

Matovu commended congregants for their discipline and devotion, urging them to remain faithful and continue serving God.

He also appealed to parents to guide their children, particularly the youth, to respect national laws and avoid disruptions that threaten societal harmony.

The ceremony highlighted the ongoing construction of St. Andrew’s Ndese Church, led by Ord. Kaddu Derrick Mbojjana, who thanked God and the community for their support.

“Over 35 million shillings have been invested in this project, with an additional 5 million needed to complete it,” Mbojjana said, noting that the work reflects both faith and dedication from church members and well-wishers.

The event drew notable church leaders, including Ven. Moses Munakukaama and Rev. William Kigguddu, alongside clergy, lay readers, and godparents.

The newly confirmed members were formally presented to Bishop Matovu by Kasawo Archdeacon Ven. Moses Munakukaama, accompanied by Rev William Kigguddu.
