KAZO – Forty-two special Police constables (SPCs) trainees in Kazo district have tested positive for COVID-19. The cases were part of 61 samples taken from the SPCs’ training camp in Kazo after three of their Police instructors had earlier tested positive for COVID-19, Dr Samuel Tweheyo Kiroha, the district health officer, revealed. This pushed the total number of cases in Kazo to 95 as of late December. Kiroha said six Kazo district employees from different departments also tested positive recently after.The development forced the authorities to suspend operations at the district head offices. The affected district employees are undergoing treatment under the home-based care system. Kiroha said of the total virus cases in the district, only four patients are symptomatic, while the remaining 91 are asymptomatic. The recoveries stand at 12.
