The Ministry of Internal Affairs will from January 4 to 8 conduct an authentication exercise for its pensioners.
In a notice dated December 30, 2020, the ministry has detailed what is necessary for the pensioners to ascertain their claim.
The notice was issued by Under Secretary Lynette Bagonza, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary Dr. Benon Mutambi.”You are therefore invited to come to the ministry premises with all the relevant personal documents,” the notice states.They (pensioners) must provide bank details, which include bank name, branch, account holder names.Identification documents to be submitted, are a national identity card and a certificate of service.Proof of employment by submitting a letter of appointment and confirmation and retirement letter.In the event that a pensioner is deceased, the estate managers must adduce letters of administration.Pensioners aged 75 years and above, must carry along a Life Certificate. Such a certificate is issued by the Public Service ministry for all government pensioners.It indicates details of signature, pension number, phone contact number, and other finer details of next of kin, home village, among others.According to details on the Pubic Service official web portal, a Life Certificate should be witnessed by a distinguished notable such as magistrate, a commissioner of Oath, a Church Minister and Assistant Chief Administrative Hierarchy.
