Africa-Press – Uganda. Ronald Katamba, the founder and CEO of Jaguza Tech, an agritech start-up has been recognised for his role in impacting livelihoods and contributing to Uganda’s food security.
Katamba was honored during the 2025 Africa Day celebrations organized by Stand Out Africa for his outstanding contributions to improving the livelihoods of farmers through technology-driven livestock management solutions.
Jaguza Tech is a data-driven platform that leverages Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and mobile tools to support farmers with real-time livestock monitoring, disease detection, market access, and veterinary support.
The platform is designed for scalability and accessibility, providing both high-tech tools and low-tech solutions like SMS and USSD to empower even the most remote communities.
Jaguza is currently operating in five African countries Uganda, Namibia, Mozambique, Fiji, and South Africa western cape with a growing user base of over 75,000 farmers.
The company is also conducting a pilot program in the United States, particularly in Iowa and New York, aimed at adapting its livestock monitoring and management technologies to support smallholder farmers and promote food security in North America.
“This award from Stand Out Africa is not only an honor, but a strong validation of the work we are doing to create sustainable agricultural systems,” said Ronald Katamba.
“It reflects the dedication of our team and partners across borders, as we continue to tackle climate change, livestock health, and farmer livelihoods with innovation and heart.”
