Kabaka Expresses Concern over Unfulfilled Promises by Leaders in Easter Message

Africa-Press – Uganda. As Christians around the world commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has delivered a heartfelt Easter message to his subjects and all Ugandans, touching on critical national issues and emphasizing the values of unity, hard work, and responsible leadership.

In his message, the Kabaka expressed concern over the persistent challenge of unfulfilled promises by leaders in the country.

He noted that while a few leaders have made strides in delivering on their commitments, a significant number continue to fall short of the expectations of the people.

Kabaka Mutebi reminded leaders of their duty to serve with integrity and urged them to prioritize the well-being of the citizens they represent.

In line with the same the Kabaka reiterated call to central government to fulfil the promises they made to Buganda especially giving back Buganda property and compensation.

“This country belongs to all of us,” the Kabaka said.

He reiterated Buganda Kingdom’s pivotal role in Uganda’s development journey.

He called for a renewed spirit of collective responsibility and leadership that works for the progress of the nation as a whole.

The Kabaka also addressed the recurring issue of flooding in Kampala, expressing sorrow over the hardships faced by city residents whenever heavy rains fall.

He urged relevant government bodies to implement lasting and practical solutions to this long-standing problem, noting that the persistent flooding not only affects livelihoods but also undermines the dignity of urban life.

“It is quite unfortunate that our people continue to lose lives whenever it rains, something must be done to prevent further recurrence” he noted

In a message of gratitude and encouragement, he commended individuals and families involved in coffee farming across the kingdom.

Recognizing coffee as one of Uganda’s leading cash crops and a vital source of income for many households, the Kabaka urged farmers to maintain high standards in coffee cultivation, harvesting, processing, and storage.

He further appealed to the government to guarantee fair and competitive prices for coffee, ensuring that farmers and cooperative societies benefit equitably from their hard work.

To reduce post-harvest losses and promote value addition, the Kabaka called for the establishment of local coffee processing plants within farming communities.

“Coffee farming remains a key avenue for our people to achieve self-reliance and combat poverty,” he remarked, urging both farmers and authorities to invest in sustainable practices that will uplift communities and strengthen the economy.

He encouraged the people to continue working diligently, to actively participate in leadership and decision-making processes, and to engage in open discussions about matters affecting the Buganda Kingdom and Uganda as a nation.

“Let us all continue to play our part in building a better, more prosperous future for ourselves and the generations to come,” Kabaka urged.
