Kawooya Urges Rotary Club to Lead Partnerships and Impact

Africa-Press – Uganda. Rotary District Governor 9214 Christine Kawooya Kyeyune has challenged the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf to champion partnerships and collaboration as key drivers of Rotary’s impact, during her first official visit to the club in 2026.

Kawooya made the call while addressing Rotarians and guests at the Kigo Seven Lakes Golf Resort, marking a significant milestone for the relatively young but fast-growing club within the district.

She emphasized that Rotary’s ability to deliver sustainable change increasingly depends on cooperation between clubs, cross-district collaboration and strategic engagement with companies that share Rotary’s values of service above self.

“Our impact grows when we work together,” Kawooya said, urging Rotary clubs to break silos, collaborate more intentionally and build strong partnerships with the private sector to scale projects and increase visibility.

During her address, the district governor commended Next Media for its role in amplifying Rotary’s work across Uganda.

She singled out platforms such as NBS TV and Afromobile for consistently highlighting Rotary initiatives, helping to bring service projects closer to the public and inspire broader community participation.

The visit also featured a moment of recognition when Kin Kariisa, President of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf and Chief Executive of Next Media, was honoured as an Amplifier of Impact.

The recognition acknowledged his contribution to using media as a force for good by spotlighting Rotary’s humanitarian work and strengthening the organisation’s public image.

Kawooya’s visit affirmed the rising profile of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf within District 9214 and set a clear tone for the year ahead, anchored on collaboration, visibility and measurable impact.

The occasion was further marked by growth within the club as new members were formally inducted and welcomed as Paul Harris Fellows, underscoring the club’s expanding footprint and commitment to Rotary ideals.

As the club continues to position itself at the intersection of service, leadership and innovation, Kawooya’s visit is expected to serve as a catalyst for deeper partnerships and greater Rotary action.
