Africa-Press – Uganda. Kutchi Tigers maintained their unbeaten streak and firm grip on the Premiership summit, while Ceylon Lions roared back into contention thanks to a second all-round masterclass from Charles Musemeza.

Meanwhile, Wanderers’ season went from bad to worse as they remained winless after five games on a Matchday lit up by tons, turns, and top-tier drama across divisions.

In a top-of-the-table showdown in Jinja, Kutchi Tigers weathered pressure to edge JACC by 20 runs. Nitin Jeshani’s dogged 84 and Mitul Pindoriya’s 41 steadied their innings to 193.

The Tigers’ bowling pack then turned the screws – Alpesh Hirani leading with 4/36 and Ghanshyam Ashani adding 3/23—to bowl out JACC for 173, despite a fighting 69 from Aaron Kusasira.

At the Serenity Oval in Kamengo, Charles Musemeza was once again the headline act. His 84 off 78 balls, alongside Ankit Patel’s 48, powered Ceylon Lions to 251.

He then added two key fielding dismissals to seal a 66-run win over a depleted nine-man Wanderers side. The Lions now move to 7 points, firmly back in the title mix, while Wanderers remain rock bottom with five losses from as many games.

In Entebbe, Tornado Bees showed their sting again with a commanding 5-wicket win over Avengers. Hamid Munigwa ripped through the Avengers with 4/48 before Baby Cricket Cranes U-19 skipper Gerald Olipa calmly anchored the chase with a fluent 66*.

Century surge & Captain’s knock

While Division I continues to offer close contests, the firepower in Division II remains unmatched. Mukono Development captain Fahad Mutagana joined the season’s century club with a blistering 115* off 90 balls after taking 3/23 with the ball.

His solo brilliance carried Mukono past Premier by 8 wickets and added to a growing list of big knocks in the Championship—joining Robert Ajuna (Nile) and Harsh Panchal (Mukono Warriors) in the triple-figure club.

Only Robinson Obuya has managed a century in Division I, proving just how fierce the second-tier competition has become.

Ismaili Community also turned on the style, dismantling Tornado by 83 runs thanks to Nazim Punjwani’s devastating 5/8 in 3.3 overs and Shehzad Khan’s 57-run platform.

Even in defeat, Tornado’s returning hero Lawrence Ssempijja offered hope with 4 wickets for 22.

Tigers top & Lions pounce

The plot thickens with Kutchi Tigers now on 9 points from five matches, chased by Ceylon Lions (7 pts) and JACC (6 pts). With Wanderers in freefall, the Premiership is quickly becoming a three-way race for glory.

In Division II, the title race looks just as spicy – Mukono Development, Ismaili Community, and GM Sugar all making noise with in-form units and eye-catching performances.
