Africa-Press – Uganda. The State Minister of Finance, Henry Musasizi, has emphasized the importance of districts preparing budgets that reflect the government’s strategic priorities, aimed at driving Uganda’s economic growth.
Musasizi made the call while opening the Local Government Budget Consultative Workshop for the 2026/27 financial year in Kabale Municipality, which brought together local council leaders from the six districts of the Kigezi sub-region.
He stressed the need for meticulous budget preparation to ensure the effective implementation of the national budget strategy.
“I want to urge you to discuss and ensure that your budgets are prepared to facilitate the effective rollout of the national budget strategy,” Musasizi said.
The minister further called on leaders to ensure that their budgets are aligned with government priorities, promoting economic growth through strategic investments and enabling technologies.
This directive reflects a broader push for tighter coordination between central government strategies and local implementation plans, with a focus on leveraging technology and strategic investments to deliver wider economic benefits.
