Archbishop Lwanga has dismissed claims by some individuals on social media who told Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine to never go to church claiming that he will be given poison during Holy Communion.

He said “when we are blessing Eucharist, we do not divide that this is for so and so, it is not true at all, let us talk the truth. Bobi loves his faith and it is me who wedded them.”

Lwanga made the remarks during New Year prayers at Sacred Heart of Mary Cathedral Lubaga.

Lwanga welcomed all the participants including Kyandodo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi, former President General of DP, Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemwogerere and several area politicians

In the same mass, the Archbishop said Pope Francis had sent special blessings to Ugandans in the New Year

This was in a message delivered by his representative, Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Luigi Bianco.

He said: “With assurance of my prayers for peace and harmony. I invoke abundant blessings upon all of you.”

Lwang said; “when we started the year we did know that we would reach this New Year.”

He also sent condolence messages to those who had lost their loved ones.

Archbishop Lwanga asked Christians to have a renewed commitment to the Biblical and Constitutional principles.

He said this year is a Biblical year for people to continue knowing the Word of God.

Archbishop Lwanga went ahead to give Bibles to Christians in their respective dockets including politicians, security officers; children under their umbrella Bannakizito, married couples, Kyandodo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi, UPDF Bridger Gen Christopher Bbosa, and members of the business fraternity.
