Salam Charity has marked a significant milestone in its mission to uplift communities through education, faith, and social empowerment with the launch of a classroom block construction project in Lwanyonyi village, Mukono District. The project is designed to serve as a hub for education, empowerment, and community development, addressing multiple needs of the local community.
The classroom block will host training programs for women and youths, provide a center for the study and memorization of the Holy Qur’an, and double as a hall for community meetings and development discussions. Speaking at the launch, Alhajji Abdussalaam Ali Kinobe, Country Director of Salam Charity, emphasized that the project is more than just a structure; it is a place where community members can acquire skills, learn, and shape their future.
The local community has warmly welcomed the project, with the area Chairman praising Salam Charity for identifying Lwanyonyi as a beneficiary and pledging the full support of residents to see the project through to completion. Community members, particularly women and youths, expressed excitement about the opportunities the facility will provide, including addressing unemployment and social challenges.
The project will also strengthen religious education in the area by providing a safe and organized environment for Qur’an recitation and memorization classes. This initiative is part of Salam Charity’s broader commitment to community-driven projects in Uganda, which have included the construction of mosques, boreholes, and educational initiatives.
The Lwanyonyi project is expected to be implemented in phases, and Salam Charity is calling on partners and well-wishers to support the initiative to ensure timely completion. Once completed, the classroom block is expected to bridge gaps in education, religious studies, and social development, contributing to unity and prosperity in Mukono District.
