Oyella, the most capped player on the current team preparing for the tour, the majority of whom are youngsters, challenged his peers to gain confidence, work hard and be fast to analyse circumstances.

“Although some people have doubt in us, I advise my teammates to turn a deaf ear to such words,” she said.

“It is about getting strong which is achieved by working hard. Discipline and confidence on the national team is paramount.”

However, Oyella admitted the players were yet to gain full fitness.

“Although most of us are still unfit, we hope to gain fitness with time. That Covid-19 lockdown left most players dormant and some of us have gained weight. We need to burn those calories,” she said.
