Africa-Press – Uganda. The lush greens of the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa played host to a memorable leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour, themed “Roar on the Green,” bringing together top golfing talent from across the region for a day of high-stakes competition, camaraderie, and celebration.

The tournament, organised by KCB Bank Uganda, attracted golfers from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Burundi—countries where the bank maintains a regional footprint. Speaking at the awards ceremony, KCB Bank Uganda Managing Director Edgar Byamah applauded participants for their sportsmanship and the shared regional spirit.

“Some evenings shine with more than just twilight, and tonight is one of them,” Byamah remarked. “Every golfer here is a winner, having contributed to the greater vision of this tour. Beyond the competition, this event strengthens regional bonds and reflects our commitment as a financial partner to both people and purpose.”

He highlighted the broader impact of the KCB Group, including its philanthropic arm—the KCB Foundation—which supports entrepreneurship, education, health, and environmental initiatives across the East African region.

Byamah also extended gratitude to the bank’s partners, urging continued collaboration in building a future where business success aligns with sustainability. “At the heart of everything is one simple promise: For People. For Better,” he concluded.

Kenya Airways, a key sponsor of the tour, reinforced its support for regional sports tourism and community engagement. Felix Mwangangi, representing the airline, announced a special offer for golfers: all club members with valid memberships can now enjoy a 15% discount on Kenya Airways tickets, further enabling travel and participation across borders.

The team On The Money—featuring Gloria Nanyonga, Dipak Patel, Nic Snyman, and Mathew Nviiri—emerged overall winners with an impressive 111 points, thanks to solid teamwork and consistency throughout the course.

Among KCB staff, Agnes Mayanja stood out as the best performer, earning cheers for her strategic play and precision on the green.

Michael Koima delivered the longest drive of the day in the men’s category, while Judith Komugisha claimed the honour among the women. Josephine Njoroge won the nearest to the pin contest for women, with Ernest Rukundo taking the men’s title. Enoch Nuwagaba emerged as the overall winner in the men’s category with 39 points, while Florence Namara led the women’s field with 32 points. Robert Sekitole was recognised as the best caddie.

Winners received a range of exciting prizes including a fully paid trip to Nairobi for the KCB East Africa Golf Tour grand finale, ICEA Lion Clubsman insurance policies, Kenya Airways flight tickets, duffle bags, golf balls, and trolleys.

As the sun set over the fairways of Serena, it was clear that this was more than just a game—it was a celebration of excellence, unity, and the future of East African sport and enterprise.
