Africa-Press – Uganda. Musician and former NBS journalist Robert Sekidde, popularly known as Tuff B, has declared his intention to run for the Makindye East parliamentary seat.

Tuff B, who picked up expression of interest forms from the National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters, on Tuesday, is seeking to challenge incumbent Derrick Nyeko for the Opposition party’s ticket.

Sekidde said his campaign will focus on bridging the gap between job seekers and potential employers, describing unemployment as a major concern for residents of Makindye East.

“One of the biggest challenges in our community is unemployment. I want to be a link between the job market and our youth,” he said.

The NUP has been welcoming aspirants for both parliamentary and district chairperson positions over the past weeks as part of its internal selection process.
