Africa-Press – Uganda. Uganda has confirmed its full preparedness to host the 15th Edition of the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games, with all major logistical, medical, and venue arrangements finalised ahead of the December kickoff.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC), chaired by Bugiri Municipality Member of Parliament, Asuman Basalirwa, stated that primary venues have been inspected and cleared, medical partnerships secured, and hospitality arrangements concluded.
“We are fully set to welcome East Africa. Uganda is ready in both infrastructure and spirit and we eagerly anticipate hosting our brothers and sisters from across the region. The list of designated hotels for delegates’ accommodation has been finalised and shared,” Basalirwa said during a press briefing on Monday.
The games are scheduled from December 5–17, 2025, across multiple venues in Kampala, including Philip Omondi Stadium (Lugogo), Hams Stadium, Wankulukuku Stadium, Kyambogo University, Makerere University, and Namboole Stadium. Golf competitions will take place at Kampala Golf Club and Serena Golf Resort in Kigo.
The LOC has confirmed partnerships with Kampala Hospital, Nakasero Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital, and International Hospital Kampala (IHK), with Mulago and Nsambya Hospitals expected to join the network.
“These hospitals have agreed to work closely with us in delivering medical support throughout the games,” Basalirwa said.
All game fixtures will be released soon, with entry to all events free of charge, a move intended to encourage public participation and community engagement, according to EAC legislators.
Parliament, defending champion, expressed confidence in retaining its title. “We cannot afford to lose on home ground. Even with the busy national electoral schedule, our teams are training intensively to maintain our dominance,” Basalirwa said.
Delegations from Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) have confirmed full participation under the theme: “One Region, One Community: Advancing Integration through Parliaments and Sports.”
Kenya’s representative, Vincent Kawaya, said that both the National Assembly and Senate will field teams across all eight sporting disciplines.
“We intend to collect as many trophies as we can, though what matters most is the unity these games promote. We also commend Uganda for its excellent organisation,” he said.
South Sudan’s delegation also praised Uganda for its high level of preparedness and confirmed participation in all events.
The EALA Secretariat encouraged East Africans to turn out in large numbers, describing the games as “a people’s event” critical for fostering regional cooperation and integration.
