Africa-Press – Zambia. A bus carrying FC Platinum supporters was involved in a serious road accident on Saturday night, just 25 kilometres from Chiredzi, while returning from the team’s away match against GreenFuel in Chisumbanje.
The bus collided head-on with a Toyota Hilux, killing the Hilux driver on the spot.
While there were no fatalities among the passengers, several FC Platinum supporters sustained injuries.
The accident occurred just hours after the Zvishavane-based club secured a dramatic 1–0 victory over GreenFuel.
This incident comes amid a troubling pattern for the club. Last month, midfielder Brian Banda died in a crash near Filabusi after a Proton Bakeries vehicle he was travelling in overturned while avoiding a head-on collision.
Weeks later, winger Oscar Bhebhe was also involved in a separate accident that left him with a broken arm.
