Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. AIR Vice Marshal Biltim Chingono has credited Arundel Hospital, owned by businessperson Kudakwashe Tagwirei, for saving his life after a near-fatal medical crisis left him on life support for four months.
The decorated military officer described his survival as a “miracle”.
“A lot of people were surprised. I stayed for six months. Of those six months, four months I was in intensive care, on life support. I don’t even know what happened,” he said.
My condition was so dire that visitors doubted that I would survive, he said.
“Some had already lost hope that they would see me standing, let alone alive.”
Chingono said the turnaround came when he was transferred to Arundel Hospital.
“When I was taken to Arundel, it didn’t take them 36 months to bring me back to consciousness. It was a real miracle,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to those who supported him on his journey to recovery, including Tagwirei.
Arundel Hospital gained prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic for its critical care services and has built a reputation for advanced medical treatment.
The facility is known for handling complex and life-threatening cases.
Previously, Chingono was Chief of Staff at the Jason Ziyaphapha Moyo Air Force Base in Chegutu.
He was promoted to Air Vice Marshal in April 2019 and has been an advocate for military training and the elimination of drug and substance abuse in the armed forces.
