Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. THE National Employment Council (NEC) for agriculture has been honoured for transforming the agricultural sector by investing in sustainable farming practices, innovative technologies and rural capacity-building to ensure food security.
NEC Agriculture’s commitment to excellence and visionary leadership in the agricultural sector saw it being one of the leading organisations named the Gold Winner at this year’s Zimbabwe CEO Network Awards. The council’s chief executive, David Madyausiku, scooped the Super Platinum Award at the awards.
With 10 fully operational provincial offices across Zimbabwe, NEC Agriculture has prioritised direct engagement and accessibility, bringing its services closer to farmers and agricultural workers in even the most remote areas.
In an interview, Madyausiku said the organisation saw agriculture not just as a business, but as a responsibility, a calling to transform the livelihoods of millions and to energise the nation’s economic heartbeat.
“NEC Agriculture is proud to play an active role in the realisation of Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030. Our mission aligns seamlessly with the national agenda of achieving an empowered and prosperous upper-middle-income economy.
“Through investment in sustainable farming practices, innovative agricultural technologies, rural capacity-building and resilient value chains, we are ensuring food security, job creation, and inclusive economic growth,” he said.
Madyausiku said NEC Agriculture’s success reflected a collective drive to deliver first-class industrial relations and advisory services that strengthened Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.
“Our success is also built on expertise. Our recruitment of personnel in their diverse fields of specialisation gives us a unique edge and plays a critical role in advancing industry standards and fostering meaningful change.
“This, combined with our strong, recognisable brand, has positioned NEC Agriculture as a trusted leader among organisations of our kind. We are nurturing more than crops, we are cultivating potential.
“From supporting smallholder farmers to expanding commercial agribusiness, NEC Agriculture is driving a shift from subsistence to productivity, from survival to prosperity.”
He said the award was a symbol of dedication to change in the sector.
“To be recognised by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network, a platform synonymous with excellence, integrity and visionary leadership, is both humbling and motivating,” he said.
