Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A 45-year-old man from Chegutu has been sentenced to six months in prison after he was convicted of indecent assault for rubbing his manhood against a female passenger in a public vehicle.
Israel Mugachi was convicted by the Chegutu Magistrates Court following the incident, which occurred on 10 June 2025.
He will serve an effective three-month jail term, with the remaining three months suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within that period.
The court heard that Mugachi boarded a commuter vehicle on the Chegutu-Gadzema route and sat next to the 25-year-old victim.
During the journey, he unzipped his trousers, exposed himself, and rubbed his genitals against the woman’s waist.
The victim confronted him about the indecent act, prompting him to stop. She later filed a police report, which led to his arrest and prosecution.
