Governments across the world have encouraged, and at times, forced citizens to stay at home to curb the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

COVID-19 was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China and the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the disease a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in January 2020, and a pandemic in March 2020.

Staying at home is still considered one of the best ways of preventing the spread of the pandemic, with several countries across the world, Zimbabwe included, in the grip of a deadlier second wave.

The pictures below are from an East African country and the word Epuka is Swahili for “Avoid”.
