Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. MWOS FC reclaimed top position on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) table with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
A decisive 87th-minute strike by Salif Cheya was enough to seal the win for Lloyd Mutasa’s side, allowing them to collect all three points and move to 37 points, leapfrogging Simba Bhora, who were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Rodwell Dhlakama’s debut match in charge of Green Fuel ended in a goalless draw against CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium. Dhlakama was appointed head coach last Wednesday.
At Gibbo Stadium, Scottland and Triangle United also shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw. The result leaves Scottland nine points adrift of league leaders MWOS, while Triangle United extended their unbeaten run to five matches and now sit in 15th place.
