Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. HARARE, June 3 (NewsDayLive) – Executor of former colonialists’ leader Cecil John Rhodes’ estate, Elizabeth Mucheche-Parirenyatwa, claims she is receiving death threats from unknown people who want her to quit her role in the administration of the vast business empire.

Elizabeth is the daughter of the late national hero and businessman Ben Mucheche.

The estate was bequeathed to Rhodes’ grandson Brian James Rhodes’ widow Elizabeth Anne Rhodes.

According to court papers, Elizabeth Anne Rhodes appointed Mucheche- Parirenyatwa as the executor dative of the estate in 2002. Mucheche-Parirenyatwa claims that she has received death threats after reporting housebreaking and theft at some of the properties to the police.

Se said some of the cases involved properties worth more than US$100 million,located in Karoi, adding that police were taking inordinately long to investigate them.

She said police officers have often harassed her for being the complainant in the cases.

“I have been a victim of torture in the hands of the police and I have also received death threats over the matter,” she said.

“We are in a trial for the past few weeks to do with Karoi properties fraud case where some of the fraudsters lied that the late Brian James Rhodes who is the 100% shareholder resigned in 2012.

“The matter is still being investigated by the police. ”

She said according to court papers, US$ $70 000 is still being held at the Master of High Court due to the impasse and that the widow of the late Brian James is deprived of her rights as she was evicted from the property by the fraudsters.

Mucheche-Parirenyatwa also indicated that Terrence Coben Rhodes, the brother of the late Brian James Rhodes died a destitute after his name was fraudulently used by the fraudsters.

“There are big names implicated in this case and I hope police are doing their job to bring the culprits to book and we expect the law to take its course,” she said.

“Last week the widow of the late Brian James appealed to President Emmerson Mnangagwa to assist her to recover his lost properties.”
