Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Warriors fullback Jordan Zemura has said it is unacceptable that Zimbabwe has gone almost a year without a win in international football.

Speaking ahead of the Warriors’ penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, Zemura said the match is a must-win for Zimbabwe. He said:

“It’s been almost a year since we won an international match. We should be the first to say that’s unacceptable because it is.

“We haven’t won any match in this campaign and all that has to change tomorrow. South Africa are our neighbours and we should be motivated by that need to win the derby.

“This is a World Cup match and we should know it also affects our rankings.

“So, we have been telling each other to raise the game. South Africa is a good team and we are expecting the match to be tough.

“But we need to really play well and be able to seize our moments.”

Zimbabwe remain the only team in Group C of the African Zone qualifiers yet to register a win.

Their four points come from draws against Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Rwanda, and Benin.
