Africa-Press – Angola. Swimmer Henrique Mascarenhas broke, Sunday, a new national record in the 100-meter freestyle event, with a time of 52.47, in the national juvenile and absolute championships in Portugal.
The athlete broke the previous record of 52.82, his belonging, obtained last April. On Saturday, the swimmer, who plays in the Portuguese competition at the service of Fluvial, had a time of 23.93, in the 50 meters freestyle, and broke the previous record (23.98) beaten by Pedro Lima, in 1991. Mascarenhas is part of the “cream” of high national competition, joining Salvador Gordo, Pedro Pontes, Daniel Francisco, Catarina Sousa, Lia Lima and Maria Freitas.
