Africa-Press – Angola. The commander of the Angolan War Navy (MGA), General Jorge Manuel dos Santos “Sukissa”, died this Sunday in Luanda from illness.
The General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), in a statement to, reports that General Sukissa was admitted to the Sagrada Esperança Clinic, after complications, having been promptly assisted by the medical staff of the hospital unit, where he died.
In view of the unfortunate event, the General Staff, in this hour of pain and mourning, offers its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and to the Angolan War Navy (MGA).
General Jorge Manuel dos Santos “Sukissa” was born in the province of Lunda-Norte, on June 9, 1961. His military background includes training at the Escola Superior de Inter-Armas, in Huambo, and at the Escola Superior de Estratégia de Campo of Battle at the China National Defense Academy.
He also took the Higher Course in Military Management and General Staff at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, with a degree in Political Science.
In Angola, General Sukissa also took courses in Leadership, Army Command, Strategy and Operative Art, Army Command and Spoken Languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French and Russian.
In his service record, it appears that the general held the positions of commander of the Operational Command (COP) of Lunda-Norte and Lunda-Sul. He also held the positions of commander of the 1st Region of the Tropas de Guarda Fronteira de Angola (TGFA) and of delegate and commander of the National Police in the province of Huambo.
