Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, informed, this Thursday, in Luanda, that the Executive is looking for safe financing solutions for the second phase of the Integrated Plan of Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), “which is expected to be more infrastructures to support local production and urban development according to the profile and potential of each municipality”.

The Head of State, who was speaking this morning at the opening of the VIII edition of the Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola (FMCA), underlined that the PIIM has been for the municipal administrations a true school for learning values, with regard to the rigor of budget execution.

João Lourenço also defended, in an energetic way, the need to think about the development of the country centered on the action of the municipalities.

In his speech, he reiterated the pertinence of the motto “Life is made in municipalities” and noted that the Integrated Program of Intervention in Municipalities confirmed “how unfounded was our reluctance in not transferring, for a longer time, more powers to municipalities “.

The FMCA aims, among other objectives, to create a space for the presentation and exhibition of the work carried out by the Local Administration Bodies, to promote the attraction of businessmen to invest in the different municipalities and cities of Angola, to publicize the potentialities for the Economic and Social development of the municipalities and cities across the country.
