Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cuanza Sul, Job Capapinha, defended, this Tuesday, in Sumbe, the need for more union and redoubled efforts of professionals in the health sector, to improve the quality of services provided in health units.

When intervening in the sworn-in act of newly appointed health sector officials, Job Capapinha asked for more commitment and dedication from professionals, in favor of the well-being of the population.

On the occasion, the official recognized that the province needs more hospitals and health centres, justifying that the Executive is working to respond to the demand registered in the health units.

In this sense, he recalled that Cuanza Sul will have, in 2023, new health units, with emphasis on the general hospitals, located in the city of Sumbe, and Porto-Amboim, which will guarantee services with better quality.

“We are aware that we need more hospitals, so that some health problems of our populations can be solved in our province. Therefore, we want a team that shows work and supports the provincial director, because health is not done in the office, but in the hospital, in the communes and in the neighbourhoods”, he stressed.

He appealed to the new staff to work with commitment and rigor in the management of the public purse and quality in public attendance services.

During the act, Tatiana Alberto Lunda, head of the public health department, was sworn in, as well as Ventura Domingos Vicente, for the area of ​​statistics, planning and human resources of the Provincial Health Office.

Likewise, Sebastião Paciência Gomes Lussasse, head of the Department of Studies, Planning and Statistics of the Provincial Government of Cuanza Sul, took office.

Members of the Government, municipal administrators, and other officials attended the event.

The province of Cuanza Sul has an estimated population of two million and 200 thousand inhabitants, spread over 12 municipalities and 36 communes.
