Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Bié, Pereira Alfredo, defended yesterday, in the city of Cuito, the need for party leaders and cadres to get ever closer to the grassroots, with a view to maintaining solidarity and cohesion.
The politician, who was speaking at the celebration of the party’s New Year, underlined that bringing the party’s cadres closer to the rank and file will also allow listening to and resolving the social problems they face, especially in the areas of education, health, energy, drinking water, sanitation, agriculture and others.
Pereira Alfredo also highlighted the support and commitment given by the grassroots militants in the electoral victory of 24 August 2022, enabling this political organization to win in Bié with 61 percent of the votes, thus electing three deputies out of the possible five.
Likewise, he reiterated the fulfillment of the promises made by the party during the electoral campaign for the 2023/2027 five-year period, so that there are improvements in the living conditions of the populations in various socio-economic domains.
The ceremony also served to honor local companies that dedicated themselves in 2022.
