Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in Zaire province, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, reaffirmed, this Monday, in Mbanza Kongo, his party’s commitment to continue implementing structural projects for the social development of the region.
Speaking at the New Year’s greetings ceremony, the politician highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of more schools, roads, hospitals, water and electricity distribution systems as the main actions that his party will continue to develop to, gradually , improve the quality of life of the local population.
According to Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, the Executive supported by the MPLA is committed to completing the construction work on the General Hospital of Zaire, the international airport of Mbanza Kongo, as well as starting work on the Soyo refinery and the two centralities in the municipalities from Mbanza Kongo and Soyo.
He also spoke of the launch of the phosphate exploration project in Tomboco municipality, in the coming months.
By the way, he asked the inhabitants of Zaire, regardless of their party affiliation, to make their contribution to the materialization of these and other actions designed by the Executive to catapult the development of the province.
He asked party leaders and cadres who hold public office to refrain from bad practices that corrode the country’s economic fabric and compromise the region’s development.
“I count on everyone’s support in the fight against corruption, nepotism, flattery and impunity, the main evils that compromise good governance”, stressed the provincial governor of Zaire.
He appealed to party leaders, cadres and militants in the province to work more in raising awareness and mobilizing the population for the aggrandizement of the party’s ranks in the region.
The ceremony was attended by party leaders and cadres, members of the secretariat of the executive commission of OMA, JMPLA and MPLA deputies to the National Assembly by the provincial circle.
