Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty-five inmates from the command of the Eastern Military Region (RML) of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and the National Police (PN) were released yesterday, in the city of Luena, under amnesty law no 35/23 of December.

The Amnesty Law, approved on December 15th of the current year by the National Assembly, forgives all common crimes with prison sentences of up to eight years, committed by national or foreign citizens, in the period between November 12, 2015 and November 2022.

Elias Inácio, one of the members of the National Air Force (FAN), sentenced to two years and four months, for the loss of military means, promised to change his attitude, behavior and practice.

Another beneficiary, Albano de Castro Lucas, assigned to the Migration and Foreigners Services (SME), who served three of the six months in prison, for indecent conduct, is willing to do “only good, after the lesson learned”.

Upon reading the declaration of release, the judge of the Military Court, Lieutenant Colonel Abel Barbosa, encouraged those affected to act in an honorable, responsible manner that respects the framework of the law.
