Africa-Press – Angola. The Reflection, Counseling and Debate Group (GRAD) defended, Monday, in Luanda, the holding of a new public consultation on the Proposed Political and Administrative Division of the country.
The position was presented at a press conference, in which it was considered opportune to collect more subsidies on the initiative of the Angolan Executive.
The bill, already in possession of the National Assembly (Parliament), provides, in essence, for the increase in the number of provinces, from 18 to 20.
Proposes the division of Moxico and Cuando Cubango into two provinces each and the increase from 164 to 581 municipalities in Angola.
The document has already been submitted for public consultation, at the level of municipal administrations and provincial governments, which held community consultation councils.
GRAD includes the Social Sciences Laboratory of the Catholic University of Angola, the Action for Rural Development in Angola (ADRA) and the Political and Social Observatory of Angola (OPSA).
