Zaire creates technical commission to monitor PIIM works

Africa-Press – Angola. A technical commission to monitor works included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), in Zaire province, was created this Tuesday, in Mbanza Kongo, by the provincial governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.

Coordinated by the deputy governor of Zaire for the Technical and Infrastructure sector, Ângela Diogo, the commission includes the directors of the Studies, Planning and Statistics, Infrastructures, Legal and Exchanges Offices, the secretary general of the Provincial Government and municipal administrators .

The announcement of the creation of the aforementioned commission was made by the provincial governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, when he was speaking this Tuesday at the opening of the 2nd ordinary session of the Board of Directors, which is analyzing, among other matters, the implementation of the Integrated Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) in the province.

The governor recommended to the commission to produce, within a period of 21 days, a report to assess the degree of physical execution of the PIIM works, implemented in the first phase in the region.

Adriano Mendes de Carvalho considered the degree of physical execution of some social projects included in the PIIM in the province to be quite low, a picture that he wants to see reversed to 75 percent by July this year.

“The degree of physical execution of some PIIM actions here in our province is below expectations”, he reiterated.

He asked municipal administrators for a pernicious management of the treasury, avoiding situations that could jeopardize the normal execution of social projects.

“A good manager should be guided by transparency and fairness in the exercise of functions”, he advised, for whom inspection actions for public managers will be redoubled.

The province of Zaire registered, in the first phase of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), 91 projects with social impact.

With a territorial extension of 40 thousand and 130 square kilometers, the province of Zaire has an estimated population of more than 500 thousand inhabitants, spread over six municipalities, 25 communes and 711 villages.
