OMA calls for continuous academic training for women

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of OMA in Zaire province, Isabel Deviya Luvenga, advised this Tuesday, in Mbanza Kongo, the women affiliated to this women’s organization of the MPLA to commit themselves more to academic and professional training.

The director made this appeal while speaking at the commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the founding of OMA, which is being celebrated.

He referred that since its foundation, the women affiliated to that organization have always dedicated themselves to academic and professional training, which allowed them to occupy, side by side with men, top positions both in the leadership of the party and of the country.

“The OMA militants have stood out on several fronts, contributing to the economic and social development of the country”, he reiterated.

He also spoke of the contribution of women affiliated to OMA in the literacy process and in the fight against domestic violence all over the country.

The first provincial secretary of OMA in Zaire also highlighted the contribution of rural women in supplying products from the countryside to the country’s major consumption centres.

The commemorative day of the 10th of January includes lectures on the trajectory of OMA, from its foundation to the present date.
