Africa-Press – Angola. The ship “Simione”, of Angolan nationality, registration number 0022-26/29/SIM/2010 IMO 9248978, “was not stolen and was never in the custody of the Customs Fiscal Police”, they informed this Friday, in Luanda , the Angolan police authorities.

The aforementioned vessel was recently seized in the Kingdom of Spain, with 3.3 tonnes of cocaine-type drugs.

According to a press release from the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), there was no ban on leaving the maritime areas under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the Angolan State.

“The ship left the maritime areas under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the Angolan State, complying with all formalities and legal procedures, with the due authorizations of Organs competent bodies and under the direction of its crew”, reads in the document.

They indicate that the Angolan authorities are monitoring with due attention, the evolution of the criminal process that involves the seizure of this vessel, in the scope of the existing cooperation with the Spanish counterparts.

They also inform that Simione has nothing to do with the process referring to the seizure of 164 kg of cocaine-type drugs in the port of Luanda, last August, and which was incinerated on November 24, in an act witnessed by public prosecutors. appointed for this purpose, under the terms of the Law.
